In response to Natalie's post about Charlotte police officers Shelton and Clark that where killed in the line of duty, I think we should make a park. Hear me out on this. Sure, it seems like a silly idea at first, why do they each deserve a park named in their honor? If it's privately funded, sure, that's great, but if there's public funds involved, I want a little more say in the situation. I think we should make a park for all police officers killed. And not just in the line of duty, heck if they were killed by a mountain goat, or died of a heart attack while mowing the lawn, they should still get a park. This would lead to a super-mega amount of parks in Charlotte. Then we could add Firefighters and EMTs too. Oh, what the hell, let's make a park for our fallen hero bus drivers and trash collectors. Am I going overboard with this yet? Don't worry Natalie, the men and women that died in Iraq will get their own "desert oasis memorial park" over in Iraq.
But here's my point: Once Charlotte is overrun with parks, the nogoodniks will have no place to hang out but at a cop-park (you like that term? I just made it up). Then, if they're arrested for dealing drugs in a cop-park, we could double the penalty! And do that for any crime.
"Keeshon Conswaila Farquita Shequita Jackson was arrested for child molestation in Frank Unser Memorial Park (a city bus driver, the locals call it FUMP for short). He is accused of looking a 9 year old girl with 'bedroom eyes'. If convicted, he faces up to 8,000 years in prison and 3 death penalties."
Wouldn't you love to see a headline like that? Soon, the entire state would be covered in parks, people would be renting their homes from the police memorial parks, we could call it a police state (you like that term? I just made it up).

Hahahaha! I love your idea. Pretty soon the only jobs in charlotte will be park rangers and park sanitation. I love it. School would be a lot easier.
