Ambition Vs. Opportunity
I think that ambition is a measurement proportional to a person's opportunity. For instance, let's assume you are 15 and have the opportunity to get a part-time job at Denny's. Good for you. Fucking wash those dishes like there's no tomorrow and make a couple hundred bones to buy yourself some shnazzy clothes for school and cigarettes after school. Congratulations, you've made it. Now, let's say you're 23, and you could be running your own business by now, as a college grad, with income around the 6 figure range. But instead you're stuck in a dead end paycheck to paycheck type job. You pay the bills, but do you think you've made it? Of course not. But does the opportunity exist? If there is the option, do you take it? It involves more work and a bit of sacrifice. There's going to be some missed opportunities along the way, but there's something bigger in the works.
