Well, it appears to be that Paypal is about to jump on the TextPayMe bandwagon and launch a Paypal Mobile service. One can only suspect that it would be similar to what TextPayMe started up a year ago. The rumors are circulating stemming from a job posting for a management position for a new division of Paypal, called Paypal Mobile. So, if you trust Paypal, perhaps you better trust the future and start sending money via cellphone today.
C'mon, you don't want those European to get all the cool stuff, now do you?
You can buy a soda from a vending machine via cell phone, and now you can buy a cell phone via vending machine.
Don't forget the Japanese.
Or how about the Canadians?
To those of you that know me personally, how many times have I been wrong about shit like this? How many times have I turned you on to something just to have it explode into the hottest thing shortly thereafter? Music. Websites. etc. Nuff said.
I know there will forever be naysayers...But are you still scared? C'mon, we're talking sending a few dollars between friends. It's not like you're going to be buying a car via TextPayMe. Besides, think about this: all credit cards have fraud protection, all banks have fraud protection, so if a malicious hacker (or errors in the service) cause you to lose money somehow, then you're still covered. What the hell are you waiting for?
Oh, and despite what some articles still say about them, they removed the part of the user agrement that gives them permission to pull your credit. They don't do that.
One last thing. There's a rumor that if you are a Beta user (they are still in Beta as of this post), you may be able to use the service for free even when they start charging fees. They even ask for your feedback as to what they should charge!
